Sustainability
The local partnerships we’ve built up since the early days of our business make for greater dynamism and flexibility, as they benefit not only from our geographical proximity, but also from our in-depth understanding of our field, as our partners have been involved in our production for many years. As a result, they are able to understand the issues we face and support us when necessary, thanks in particular to their reactive work planning. The selection of our suppliers is based on an optimum performance/distance ratio.
We are in close contact with our key suppliers and meet with them regularly. We try to reduce the length of the supply chain as much as possible.
We also carry out company visits to check out the organization and working methods of our partners. 98% of production-related purchases are made in Switzerland, half of them in the cantons of Fribourg, Berne and Vaud.
In collaboration with HEG Fribourg, we are currently studying the feasibility of cashback for our products, allowing customers to return constructions built using our system. Once the components have been dismantled, they will be fed into a stock of parts that can then be reused in new projects, thus creating a circular economy on our own scale.
Our system is reusable. Everything can be dismantled and the components reused directly to build a new structure.
We buy almost no packaging material, as we have implemented a principle of recovering the padding material we receive from our suppliers.
PMF-System’s patented assembly system is based on standard metal profiles. As a result, PMF has no in-house production facilities for these components, on which all our constructions are based.
Employees are encouraged to come to work by bus or bicycle (we offer a publibike pass to any employee who wishes to cycle to work). The company is located 300m from a bus stop with an excellent timetable and a direct link to the Fribourg train station.
Our company is located at the Marly Innovation Center (MIC), one of Switzerland’s largest technology campuses. This fast-growing area offers a genuine ecosystem, a wide range of activities and all the infrastructure needed for business success.
Increasingly aware of environmental issues, MIC management is striving to improve the site’s ecological footprint by adopting sustainable practices.
At PMF-System, we are very careful to ensure that our production employees have as broad a spectrum of skills as possible. The aim is to make daily work less repetitive, more varied and, for the company, less dependent on one key person in one key position. In the event of absence or illness, production can be maintained and the pace of work smoother, making work more comfortable for the whole team. Specific machinery has been developed and installed to simplify the system’s production operations as much as possible. In this way, even people with less formal training can quickly learn and become self-sufficient in our workshop.
We constantly welcome students from engineering schools who come to draw inspiration from our organization to complete their training and prepare for the job market.
We favor part-time work to enable employees to pursue leisure activities, optimize family life, take part in associations, etc.). Working hours are very flexible.
Part of our production facilities are located in a sheltered workshop in the canton of Vaud. This structure now produces our patented assembly principle.
We also collaborate with another specialized institution in Marly for complex machining operations on wood components.
