History
My name is Lino Peverada. Creator and founder of PMFch SA, I come from Ticino and am passionate about mechanics. Here is how my project came to life…
My passion
Even as a child, I loved the modularity and functionality of Lego. When I was 25, I remember my brother asking me what I wanted for Christmas. My answer was, of course, “a Lego Technic”. After my apprenticeship as a mechanic, I moved to Fribourg to continue my studies at engineering school. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I worked for 7 years in an international aerospace company. During this first professional experience, I met a very experienced mechanic whom I’ll call P.P.
In September 2008, P.P. gave me the idea of creating and marketing a modular system using standard profiles. This anecdote immediately reminded me of my passion for Lego Technic, and it was a real wake-up call for me. On reflection, I decided that it was a very good idea that deserved to be developed.
In the garage
Based in a garage from 2008 to 2012, in my spare time I not only developed the product, but also built the machines and tooling that today enable PMF to manufacture its components and furniture in Switzerland.
Those years were a tremendous apprenticeship in the field of mechanics. Initially, I didn’t really have the vision of setting up my own business, but in 2012 it became obvious to me, thanks to the advanced development of the concept.
The workshop in Neyruz
One thing led to another, and I rented a larger workshop better suited to the development of my company. It started out as an empty space, with no lighting or electrical connection, so I decided to get to work and started transformations. In September 2013, I founded PMFch SA and today, with motivation intact, I now offer a product proudly bearing the “Swiss Made” label. In the meantime, the small company is growing by the day and hiring new staff.
