03. DINING ROOM + LIBRARY
As part of the “No-Stop Apartment” workshop, conducted in collaboration with PMF-System, the project questions the ability of furniture to produce spatiality within open, indeterminate volumes. By moving away from a strictly functional logic, and capable of structuring space to generate new relationships between uses.
The intervention focuses on the dining room and library. Working on levels, shelving and a resting area are integrated, not as distinct programmatic additions, but as components of a continuous arrangement. Here, furniture acts as a mediating element, producing gradients of intimacy and articulating different intensities of use within the same structure.
The project thus proposes a re-reading of the dining room, no longer as a monofunctional space, but as a hybrid structure capable of accommodating a wide range of uses.
The work on materiality, which breaks with the industrial character and proportions, nuances its rigor. The ensemble thus envisages space as a relational system, where furniture, as infrastructure, becomes an operator in the transformation of modes of living.
